Arwen?
What are you thoughts on the name Arwen? (female)

It's a pretty name, but people would think you were an LotR nut. That may or may not be the reason you'd want to use it, but I'd use it as a mn only. If you wanted to name a child after a favorite literary character like that, mn is definitely best.
It's very pretty! Basically anything from Elvish makes me a bit weak at the needs (and no I'm not a rabid LOTR fan, I still haven't read the 3rd book, although I did love the movies), just because it sounds so much like Gaelic (which it was based on, I believe), and it's so lovely and lilting. Yay Arwen! lol
It's nice. I know an Arwen who is about 28, so it's not that far out to me. I suppose that there is something stern about it, to me; but it's not overbearing at all.
It reeks of rabid fandom
Sorry. It's waaaaaaaay too tied to LoTR for use in the real world, and I find it very harsh. What about Anwen?

I think it is nice but it is to reminisce of Lord of the Rings. Perhaps go with Anwen?
Arwen is a beautiful name for a child. I think that I would name a child this if I didn't have some preffered names.
I really like this name. I would consider using it but the poor child would end up with a speech impediment trying to say her full name.
I think its a lovely name. Enough time has passed since the LOTR movies came out that the name is usable and not immediately associated with the books/movies accept by big fans of the series.
I know a little girl whose mn is Arwen.
