Sunny would be a lovely nn for a name like Sunniva, or any name really beginning with S. I knew a Sharon called Sunny.
I think it would be overbearing as a full name, no one is sunny and happy all the time, and it sounds like a nn.
Sun is nice, but remember it and "son" sound the same.

Oh! your so right with the sun pronunciation, that could be a little confusing couldn't it! I'll forget that.
