I don't mind it. It has a strong masculine way to it, so that's a good thing.

I can only think of that terrible character Roman from the movie the Great Outdoors with Dan Ackroyd and John Candy...Roman wasn't a nice guy.

I like it, in theory, but makes me think of Romans and soap operas (due to a popular character from Days of our lives, lol).

I'm sorry, but I really don't like it. Here Roman and Romina are names used by the Roma (Gypsys), it means novel in Croatian, German and some other languages and I'm not a fan of word names (with few exceptions, like flower names) and I really, really hate naming children after nations or countries one has no connection to(Roman, India, Cree, Cheyenne, Dakota, etc.).

I like it quite a bit. Sadly, if I were to marry my boyfriend, I probably couldn't use it because his last name ends in -man. I particularly like the meaning of the french word, roman, which translates to novel, since I'm a writer.

I like it a lot. I think it's very masculine. It does have a significant cultural touchstone, though: the character Roman Brady of the soap opera Days of Our Lives. But maybe that doesn't bother you (it doesn't bother me at all).Last year I stole the combo Roman Ulysses from regular poster Adelle. :-)I also like Roman Tiberius, though I know that's too themey for most people.

I like it, not sure if I'd use it.

I really like it but I does make me think of Romans. Still I agree with some of the others, there's something fresh and fun about it and it's one of those modern names I would like to see and hear more of.
Personally I could never use it because Roman (with a slightly different pronounciation) means novel in Swedish :/

I think it's a horrible name the Romans weren't that great (especially the soldiers back in the day) IMO ever since I did that Journey to Bethlehem thing for Christmas.I don't mind Romeo or Rome though.

I'm with Joan-Ay. Roman is a cool name. It's fashionable, in a good way. (I don't think of Rome when I hear it at all.)

Guilty pleasure for me. Strong but simple, not over the top. I'd be delighted to meet a little Roman.
