I have two nephews named Christopher and Nicholas (brothers). Despite the fact that I would have named my second born dd Nicholas had she been a boy, I'm glad I didn't because of its popularity. I just don't love it anymore. Actually, I'm not sure I ever did. Picking and sticking with male names has always been difficult for me. ;-)

Overall, I much, much prefer the sound of Christopher but I'd only use it as a mn because like Nicholas, it's just too common.
