new baby + an obituary
A friend of my Fiance had a baby girl recently. I was a bit depressed when I heard and saw her name spelled out.Astin Roseand another friend hadPenelope Jane (I put this in a post a while ago, but recently learned her middle name.)&
I saw a man in the paper named Kai who died recently, who was sixty eight years old. which is why I thought it was so odd, since everyone seems to think Kai is so trendy.

Astin is a GP of mine, I don't know why! I would never actually use it though!Penelope Jane is gorgeous.

Astin is horrid, imo. At least she has a feminine mn. Penelope Jane is gorgeous. Kai seems modern & trendy to me, but it definitely has roots. The man may have been of Scandinavian or Hawaiian descent.

Blech, how is "Astin" pronounced? Rose, of course, is lovely but so tired as MN.
Penelope Jane is lovely! So cute and will age perfectly. :) I just hope they don't use Penny for a NN...
The only Kai I know is 23, which means he was born back when the name was way down at #940. I think he was named after his grandfather.

I think they're calling her Penny Jane, actually. which I have mixed feelings about. and Astin is pronounced just like Aston.

Astin sounds really masculine to me. And it makes me think of Astin Martin. Hopefully her last name isn't Martin.

My aunt's name is Penelope Jane! It's nms but refreshing to see something a bit unusual in the BAsS xx

Don't like Astin, I find it rather masculine.Penelope Jane is gorgeous though. As for Kai, I don't find it trendy as it's my 17 year old brother's middle name and my parents got the name from a friend they had (a Norwegian, who will now be in his late forties).
