Cornelius is a family name for me and I love it. Consequently, the feminine form of the name is pleasing to me as well. I was suprised when my 17 year old niece said she likes Cornelius as a boy's name; I don't think she knew it was her great-great grandfather's name. (Keep in mind she named las year she named her puppy Bailey . . . ) So Cornelius / Cornelia might be better received than you think. :-)

Sorry but I really don't like Cornelia. It reminds me of corns on the feet. That's the only thing that spoils it for me: I love most other "elia" names, including Cordelia._____________________________________________________________________Elinor"Actually, guns do kill people. Why not a fn?It is a classic name and I like it. It is rather long but Nelia or Nellie would be a cute nn.Cornelia is uncommon in Sweden but recently it is getting more popular. A name in the same style as the more popular Julia, Cecilia, Emilia and Amelia."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I love the name Cornelia. I think it is old-fashioned but still usable. Admittedly nicknames would be a problem, but if I called my daughter Cornelia I would probably use her full name.

Hmm...I can see the teasing potential, sorry. Corny would not be an attractive nickname. I think a little girl named Cornelia would have to endure a lifetime of teasing, even though it's a pretty name.__________________________________________________
