Elias, Beck, and Franz
All for boys, natch. What do you think of them apart? What about as a sibset?
Thoughts in general would be very much appreciated. ;)

ETA: In light of the discussion below, it seems prudent to mention that Elias would be pronounced uh-LIE-iss in this accent (and Franz would be FRAHNZ, if you happen to be curious about that one, too). I presume Beck is pretty self-explanatory.

It would be an interesting sib set.
Beck is very surname trendy to me, and I can't really see it as a name.
Franz - Very cool, but again, a little out there. I wouldn't mind meeting one, though.
Elias - very yuppie trendy, though I adore it.
I might thin that they were German with the names, if it weren't for Beck. :-( Sorry.

I adore Franz. I always forget to mention it when listing my favorite names. Unfortunately I love Francis a little bit more. But Franz is just so bold and regal. I love it as the first name of a double FN too. Franz Joseph (Haydn! and a certain Habsburg emperor, and I think there was another Franz Joseph composer too--but mostly, Haydn!), Franz Ignaz, Franz Ferdinand, Franz Leopold...*sigh*
I love it and I'd love to meet one. Frank is cute and FJ for Franz Joseph just kills me. I'm not sure why I love it so much. Initial nicknames always seem to cutesy for me, but for some reason FJ is so silly and ridiculous that I love it.
Elias I really like the sound of, but it just looks so wimpy that I want to hit it with a bat. It just seems like there aren't enough letters for the powerful sound it makes. I recently added Elisha to my list, though, and no regrets so far.
I love Eli though and prefer it as a full name.
Beck is bleah. When my friend Neeny got on a Beck [Hansen] obsession, my first thought was "how could anyone have such a lame and boring name?" And then she showed me pictures and pictures of him, and I was like "Wow, what a totally uninteresting looking guy." And she sent me all his music, and I was like "Wow, um, all of his songs have so many images that don't make any sense and they don't say anything at all, and it's really infuriating and I want to hit him!" Still, I don't hate the name. It's just very boring. Beck. It's like there's nothing there. It's like you're sitting in an airport gate between ten-hour flights, eyes glazed over, black suitcase folded unhappily near you, exhausted but suspended in limbo between sleeping and being awake. Beck. Bleak. Nothing. It's just nothing. It's not even short for anything, like nothing-name Mae is. It's just... I mean I don't like it, is what I'm trying to say.
Completely mismatched siblings. But kind of a neat mismatch.

Thanks for your thoughts--I'm afraid we don't put too much stock in this business of matching siblings in my family. ;) (If theoretical kids were real, these'd be Morpheus and Evey's cousins, for the record, heh.)
And I'm afraid we've got a severe thing for Beck in this household, lol. I think he's quite handsome, myself--but then, I'm also quite fond of Mae on its own, too, heh.

I think they make a great sibset. They fit without being too theme-y, but still maintain a bit of eclecticism. I like all the names seperately, but Beck the most.
