Thicket?
What do you think? I know it's a little "out there", but I'm in an out-there mood.If you'd like to humor me, or if you actually like it, could you provide me with middle name suggestions?Thicket Rosalia? Thicket Zahrah? Thicket Katherine? Thanks,

oh dear, that's awful.Sorry. I hear 'thick' for fat or stupid pretty regularly, and I'm in the US. More importantly, definition 2: something resembling a thicket in density or impenetrability, a tangle... usually the context is that a thicket is a daunting obstacle to reaching an understanding or a goal. It has a pretty strong negative connotation, such that I'd expect a person nicknamed Thicket to have very messy hair, or else to be unpleasantly prickly and not very bright. As a given name, I just think it's awful... it's awful.Wait a minute ... are you joking? Thicket Katherine? This honestly strikes me as funny, it's so bad.

not to mention...visually, it's reminiscent of "ticket", as in bus ticket, plane ticket etc.

It doesn't even sound pretty. It reminds me of a tangle of branches and torns just waiting to trip you up.Also, there is a product for thickening liquid for people who have trouble swallowing. It's called Thick-It.

I see your point for teasing potential, but considering I live in the U.S. and that term "thick" is not used often at all here, it really wouldn't be a problem.I really like Thicket Julia, Thicket Maria, and Thicket Adeline. Thanks.

I like in the US here an 'thick' is used. It sometimes means fat and sometimes means strict.

I live in the U.S., and I've heard thick to mean "stupid". It's also a term that African-American men use to describe women. I don't know exactly what they mean by it, but I know that it's a compliment.
