Lilah and Isla
So, my boyfriend's favorite girl names are Lilah and Isla. However, His last name is Lathan and he does not understand that Lilah Lathan and Isla Lathan do not sound good. Is there a chance that either of these could work? They are both pretty names but the "la la" does not exactly work for me. OR any other name suggestions that we may consider?
Thanks!

I love both Lilah and Isla, but they don't work well with Lathan. The only possibility I can think of is turning them into double names, like Isla-Marie or something.
How about using Delilah with the nickname "Lilah". This way on paper it's Delilah Lathan.
I'll think about Isla. It's not nearly as bad as Lilah Lathan....but I do see your point.
Solution...the baby has a hyphnated name with the mothers name first!!!! you can then use either name.

I think Isla Lathan sounds ok. That one would work. Actually either of them would work. Lilah Lathan would work too. I just feel Isla Lathan works better because it doesn't start with an L so it doesn't seem as L heavy.
Delilah, Leah, and Ayla would all work, no?
How about Delilah Lathan...the "de" sound kind of breaks it up a little so it's not quite so la la'ish.
I think Isla Lathan isn't that abd.
Lilah would not work. As for Isla... I am torn. My bf's surname also starts with La-, and I have tried explaining the exact same thing to him about Isla (although he likes it spelt Islay). He doesn't get it at all! Tbh, I don't find the la-la thing too bad in this case, and I bet most non-name-nerds wouldn't even notice! So you could prob get away with it. Other option is to double-barrel the kid's surname so that the la's aren't next to each other!

Is it more of a problem with starting with L? Or is just the ending of Lilah the problem?
Sorry I haven't been much help yet.
