Libby
I was wondering two things:
one) what do you think of this name? and
two) Could this be a nickname for a name, or is it just a name by itself? or both?

It can be a nn of Elizabeth, or on its own, it means "my heart" in Hebrew...

I dislike it because it was the surname of a really mean lady I knew as a kid. I guess I would prefer it as a nickname for Elizabeth if at all.

Libby is a lovely name! I'd use it by itself or as a nn for Liberty and Libena.

I love it, but only as a NN for Elizabeth. It's cute for a child, but not for a grown woman.

Sorry, but I hate Libby. And to me it only works as a nn. I can't see an old woman named Libby.

I love Libby and I think it can stand as a name on its own and I think its beautiful as a nickname as well.

I love Libby, not so keen on Liberty though.

I like it.I think it could be a name by itself.

I like Libby very much, but as a nickname only - Elizabeth is usual though you could risk Liberty (personally, I'd stick to Elizabeth rather than risk the inevitable Liberty associations).
I've always thought Elizabeth (Libby) and William (Billy) would make a good sibling pair!

I don't care for Libby at all. Traditionally, it has been a nickname for Elizabeth. Any nickname CAN be used as a name by itself, though it's not something I would choose to do. But if you like Libby and don't like Elizabeth, there's certainly nothing stopping you from using just Libby.
