All jokes/ teasing potential aside, WDYT of the name Galen / Galand? Which do you like best or hate least?

I love Galen (for a boy), but the Gail sound bothers me and I worry about it sounding feminine, or him being teased for having "gay" in his name. I don't know why Galen sounds to me more likely to be teased than Gabriel, though (maybe just because Gabriel is more common). Galand is not wise, though. Perhaps as a mn, esp. if it's a family name/surname. But I can't help but see "Gay Land". So it's up there with Gaylord, imo.
I like Galen, but spelling it Galand is confusing. I wasn't sure how to pronounce it, and as others have pointed out, it looks like a misspelling of Garland. Stick with Galen.
Galand looks like a misprint for Garland to me. I would much prefer Galen as a boys' name. Another well-known Galen is the nature photographer Galen Rowell:

I'm not crazy about Galand because it looks like gallant, which seems egotistical. I'm not crazy about the name Galen, but I think that it is fully acceptable. One of the best runners in America is named Galen Rupp ( http://www.usatf.org/athletes/bios/Rupp_Galen.asp ).
I really like Galen, and I far prefer it to Galand.
I also like Garland.
