WDYT of Laurel?
I tend to fall in and out of love with this name. I tend to prn. it more often Luh-rel then Lawr-el, but like both. Luh-rel would probably end up being the dominate prn., as in my neck of the woods Lauren is more often prn. luh-ren then lawr-en. Thoughts? Middle name suggestions? Do these sound decent as sibsets?:
Damian Thor and Laurel ?
Amelia Cora Lynn and Laurel ?
Marsena Asdis and Laurel ?
Freyja and Laurel

Lauren and Laura mean laurel...So Laurel really isn't a version of Laura or Lauren.

I love it! I wouldn't use it as a first name since my cousin's daughter who we see/talk to often enough is Laurel, another cousin's wife is Laurel, and my sister is Laura, but I could see myself using it as a middle name. :-)Around here, people would only say LAWR-el, but if LUH-rel works in your area it's all good. The Laurel's I know are Laurel Elizabeth and Laurel Jean (I really like the latter). Some others:
Laurel Faye
Laurel Therese / Theresa
Laurel Eve
Laurel Ivy - Themey, but I couldn't resist.
Laurel Ophelia
Laurel Octavia
Laurel Evelyn
Laurel Veronica
Laurel Anastasia - I don't know if that's your real name or not! =P
Laurel Rhea
Laurel Thomasina
Laurel Angeline
Laurel Angelica
Laurel Noa

I prefer Laura too, but..My sister's middle name is Laura. And Half-sister's middle names are Lauren and Lorraine. So, I'm left with Laurel =)

I love it.It's actually on my list, though pretty low. I really love Laurel Kathleen, but that's my thing.Freyja and Marsena Asdis sound pretty out of place with Laurel, but Damian and Amelia work well with it. WDYT of Laurel Sigrid?

I think it's beautiful said LOR-el. LAHR-el and LUH-rel sound unbearably hickish to me, sorry.Amelia and Laurel are gorgeous sisters!

Yup.I pronounce Maggie with a long A (maaay-gie), which is a total hick thing to others. I don't care. :-D

I think the LAW-rul pronunciation is a better choice because it's the way you pronounce the vegetation (think of laurel wreaths). I wouldn't pronounce Heather huh-THERE or pronounce Ivy ih-VEE. Middle names: Laurel Jane, Laurel May, Laurel Anne, Laurel Kate.
