Message: "Lala" - Behind the Name

I had a friend in Jr. High and her name was Lala. Her real name was actually Eduarda, so I don't know where Lala came from. But everyone referred to her as Lala, even all of our teachers. Anyways, I was just wondering what everyone thought of it. Do you like it? Do you like it as a given name? or only as a NN?

I have a friend named Charla, who sometimes goes by La. I think it looks bad on paper but you get used to hearing it as a name after a while.

I don't think that Lala would be usable as a given name though.

I believe that in Spanish speaking countries Lalo is a nn for Eduardo.

I like Lala as a nn, but never as a full name. Lala also means tulip in Serbian so it's more a flower name to me.

It's a sweet nn for names starting wiht La-, but I find it cutesy as a given name, it wouldn't age very well IMO.

Lalo is a traditional nn for Eduardo. Why? Who knows...Pancho is a nn for Francisco and Pepe is a nn for José. I love the nn Lalo, but Lala does sound flimsier.

That's the first thing that popped into my head. If it had to be anything, only as a nn. I have a cousin Laura who is occasionally called Lala.

I think it sounds unintelligent. It is like someone being called DeeDee or RayRay. It just is not very unique and sounds like a speech impediment, as if they are just going to drone on with La for awhile. Lalalalalalala...
