TobyI've also noticed a trend in NZ recently....the Luke names, ie Luke, Lukas, Lucas, Luka, Luca. Out of the 24 boys announcements 6 or 1/4 of them include one of these names (either first or middle)there are:
2 Luke's
1 Luca
1 Lucas
2 Lucas' used as middle nameIn the 2 weeks before that out of 55 BAs there were:
4 Lukes
1 Luke used as a middleI'm finding i can't read the BAs without seeing at least one of the various Luke names....and i'm not so sure that i like it/them. My guesses are that Luke will feature quite high on our top 10 this year after coming in at 14 last year, 16 in 2005 and 19 in 2004.WDYT of the various Luke names?

George As for Luke- names, I love Luke but I have seen a huge jump in popularity for it lately (as well as Lucas, and then add in Luka, etc.). I think I prefer Luke on its own but I also love Luka and Lucian, both with nn Luke. I don't care for Lucas at all, it makes me think of 'mucus', which is strange because Luke doesn't make me think of 'puke'. :b

I dislike Luke names. though my mothers fathers name is Luke, as is her brother. I just think they're unappealing.I did used to like Lucas on a girl.

William JamesI actually really do like the name Luke, but I think I prefer it as a nickname for Lucas, and general speaking, I prefer it as a middle. One of my personal combos is William Lucas.
