I really like Walter. It's not something I'd use myself as a fn (maybe would as a mn), but I'd like to see someone else use it :)

I really like it, especially with Walt as a nickname.

I realy don't like it. Walter is an old man to me, not a baby.

I like it but I don't like it when it's spelled Walter ( or Walther). The only spelling I like is Valter

I love the name. :)

Walter is cute with the nn Walt. It's very old-fashioned and is not a name you hear on younger children nowadays. There is another name like this, Stanley nn Stan, that I've been starting to like. It has the same things going for it. An old-fashioned name that you don't hear very often.

I know a guy who is now twenty-five named Stanley. Once in a while someone refers to him as Stan, but for the most part he's Stanley. It always struck me as a little nerdy, but maybe if it was used more often it would shed that image. Stanley himself isn't nerdy at all.

Yes, I also have heard of people in their 20s, 30s, and older with the name Stanley, but I meant that you don't see that many Stanleys who are under 5 years of age.

Walter was my father's name. He died when I was 11 months old but I've always wanted to use it as a middle name to honour him.

I really like Walter, and I like the nn Walt. I had a chem teacher in high school whose first name was Walt. We often called him that, affectionately, behind his back (one would never have called him that to his face or treated him affectionately to his face either, because he was and is quite fond of giving the impression that he is mean and grouchy and often refers to his students as "you bunch of slugs/sheep" but we all loved him.) Anyway, yes, Walter. Great name. Underused. I am in favor of Walter.

I personally don't like it. It sounds too old to me and while I like a lot of old names, this is not one of them.

I love it. I think Walter is the same sort of manly classic as David and Charles, but it's far less overused.

I love it! It's been on my favourites list forever, my fave combo being Walter August. It sounds so poetic and intelligent that I think it's a great name choice.

I know a Walter who goes by Walt. It's not my favorite sound, but I don't dislike it.

I love Walter! I always seem to forget about it for some reason. Anyway, I think it's very handsome and so is the nn Walt.

I like the name Walter, as well. I think it is classic and underused. I have used it for a character's name before.
