I love Kay, but only as a nn. Traditionally it's a nn for Katherine, but I suppose you could use it for any name that begins with the letter K. I'd have to see what formal name you'd choose before commenting on how any particular mn sounds with it.
One word, though. I dislike the name Bellatrix under any circumstances. It's too similar to "belli" the Latin word for war, as in bellicose or belligerent. When combined with the "-trix" ending, roughly equivalent to the English suffix "-ist," my mind sees "war-ist." Or, put another way, someone who starts a war. ~~shivers~~ I do, however, love the name Beatrix. The Beatrix Potter imagery in my mind is light years away from a *war-ist / warrior.*
