I hope you're really looking for honest opinions, and I don't hurt your feelings. My thirty-three-year-old niece's name is Heather. My sister (her mother) always said what a beautiful name it is. I could never understand why she felt that way, although of course I never said anything. To me, it has no appeal at all, though of course it's obvious that many disagree, given its popularity--especially during the seventies, when my niece was born. I really don't care much for any name beginning with an H, and I find the harsh TH sound in the middle of Heather unappealing. I've known three other Heathers other than my niece. But I've never been able to understand why it became so popular.
