Nicolette is much fresher and spunkier than the tired and overused Nicole.
But Nicola (NI-ko-la *not* ni-KOLE-uh) would be even better :-D

I didn't realize...
...that Nicola could be pronounced NI-ko-la. I always pronounced it ni-KOLE-uh and didn't like it. The first pronunciation totally changed my view on the name! Thanks lol :)

My mother's name is Nicola, so I've grown up hearing NI-ko-la and hearing her complain about people that use the other pronunciation :-D
It's a very English pronunciation and she's from England - I suspect the US pronunciation has been influenced by the Spanish pronunciation, which is the -KOLE- one.
