Crimson
Is it suitable to use as a name or is it too harsh?

I think it would be nice as a middle name. I think of red ribbons and crimson skies.

Crimson is the color of blood...It seems far too morbid for a name, IMO. No offense meant.

I have the same association of crimson. That's why I posted to determine if others had similar associations of crimson.

I love it, for a boy

It sounds very nice, but it's always used to describe blood, usually coming from fatal wounds, and I kinda associate it with death...
too bad really!

Crimson is my favorite color, and while I'm usually an avid supporter of color names, for some reason I can't give a thumbs up to Crimson. It's especially odd since it sounds the most name-y than most color names. *shrugs* Perhaps it is too harsh.

Sorry, but I dislike colour names in general and this in particular somehow feels too violent and sensual to be used as a name

I think it would be fine if you really love it, I've seen it in the BAs a few times. I prefer Scarlett though.
