Evgenia is intriguing. As a Eugenia / Eugenie lover, almost any variant is a welcome one. :-)
I would pronounce Evgenia with a hard "g," and I would be hard pressed to suppress a "yev" at the beginning. "yev-GHEN-ia"

Evgenia reminds me of a similar name, Evdokia ("ev-duh-KEE-a"), a variant of Eudoxia / Eudocia. I just thought you might like that one as well.
