I really like it. It's very long and over the top in a way, but I do find it quite pretty. I love Esme for the nn too.

I know it is a popular name amongst the BtN users, but I personally detest it. It's long and sounds hagish to me.

I love the quirkiness of Esmeralda. I don't think I'd ever use it but I can definitely see its appeal. My eldest dd wants to name her dd Esmeralda. We'll see ... ;-)

Love love love it! Emerald is my birth stone. I love the stone and i love this name. I think it'd be better as a middle name, personally. Something like Ruby Esmeralda, Brianna Esmeralda, etc. etc.

I prefer Esme, Esmeralda is a little too much for me
