Nickname question
I know I asked this a few days ago, but I'm still torn. Which nickname do you prefer for Eugenia: Ena (EE-na) or Jean? I like both names in their own right as well as nicknames, though either way I can't decide between the two! I asked the polls as well, who seemed to prefer Jean (17:5), but I'd love to hear your thoughts also. Thanks! :D

I prefer Jean as a nn for Eugenia. Not sure why, and Ena is nice too, but I do like Jean (or maybe Jeanie... or maybe Genie?).

I prefer Jean, to Ena, but Genie to Jean. Both by very wide margins.

Ena is kind of cute, but I really like Jean. My great uncle Eugene "Gene" past away a few years ago, and was such a good man. I've always like the name in honor of him and his memory.

I prefer Jean as a nickname, but Ena is nice, too.Queen Victoria's granddaughter who became Queen of Spain was named Victoria Eugenie Julia Ena, and was always called Ena.

If the only two you're considering are Ena and Jean, I like Ena better. I've never liked Jean.I'd use Gina or Ginny though.

I'd pick Ena. I have bad associations with the name Jean.

Ena most definitely. Its cuter, and though I like Jean its always seemed a bit to quick.

I adore both Eugenia and Jean. I first heard Ena "EE-na" used as a Scottish-Gaelic form of Helen (although I can't confirm that's accurate.) Love it too.Tough call. I'd probably tend toward Ena because it *looks* more nn-y. Just because I'm bored here at work, how about other nns like:Eugie, Genie, Jeanie, Jenny, Genia, Gigi, Nina?

Thank you! Genie/Jeanie and Genia were previous nicknames I'd toyed with and still think are adorable, but decided I liked Jean better. Nina's a neat idea too, I'll have to think on that as well. It's kind of unfortunate that Eugenia makes many a snappy nickname. So many great ones to choose from!

I prefer Ena. It has a younger feel to it rather than the classic, yet bland, Jean.

I prefer Jean between the two if you offer them totally unconnected to Eugenia, but it seems like too much of a forced match to me as a nickname. I'd go for Ena. It's sweet. :-)
