Addison for a boy
Replies
Even if it's on a boy, it still seems very new-yuppie-whiny to me. Here is why it bugs me, and if you don't follow this reasoning please discount it: It began as a practical label for someone who was the son of an Adam, to prevent confusion. And therefore it seems really pointless and silly just to use it for its sound. Plus the sound isn't that appealing to me, and it's pretty feminine anyway (which is okay and all.)
I can see the religious argument "my son is a son of Adam!" and it's better on a boy than a girl, and Addison Jude is good. But in general, I would be disdainful of it.

I really dislike it for both sexes, but I would not mind it being used as a middle name for a boy providing it is a family surname. I love Jude.
I think Addison is a very masculine name, I really dislike it on a girl. I think Addison Jude is a great combo! For me Addy / Addie is feminine. I guess Addy (this spelling) could work for a boy, but only until he was about 8 years old. It just makes me think of my nephew Jeffery, he is just about to turn 9 and he now wants to be called Jeff, lol.
The only Addison I've ever known personally was a boy (whose parents, funnily enough, thought they were expecting a girl and had chosen the name Addison already, 16 years ago before it was as popular as it is now), but the overriding association for me (apart from a fabric shop, which doesn't help the girl-asscoiation thing) is with the Grey's Anatomy character.
That aside, i think Addison is one of those names that's viable for either sex; it will probably age better on a boy than a girl because it seems to be more popular for girls at the moment. I think Addison Jude is a great combo, despite neither name being my style, and umm the jury is out for me on the nn, but if you like it then use it!

I think Addison is very handsome on a boy. It's way more masculine than feminine to me. Addy/Addie is an adorable nn for a boy.
I love love love it and think it sounds more like a guy's name. It sounds strong and brave. I love it!

I think it sounds better for a boy anyway.
It has always sounded more masculine then feminine to me mainly because of the "son".
It's nms but Addison Jude is really nice.
I think it will age well more so on a boy then a girl in my opinion. I also know a boy named Adalbert who sometimes goes by "Addie" so I see nothing wrong with the nn either.
