I'm Catalan, and Anaïs it's uh-nuh-EES with my accent, which is pretty close to the "standard" Catalan, but you could easily hear ah-nah-EES anywhere in Catalunya, too...I guess there isn't a BIG difference between the two pronunciations.
EDIT- Oh, and I ADORE this name, it's one of my favourites...although it has a weird feeling of "trashy name" here in Catalunya -I think it's due to the great popularity of Anaïs in France, that has made it almost lose the beautiful Provençal-Catalan feeling that it has, and so, it makes Catalan people a bit "fearful" to use it...the different French governments haven't done much for us, minority cultures, rather the contrary...if we're still alive, it's just because we're inner survivors.
