Cliona
WDYT of Cliona "Cleo"?I love Cleo, but I think Cleopatra was a bit OTT, but I'm finding myself liking Cliona, even though normally I'm not a huge fan of gaelic names.

I love Cliona. It's very and unique.

It's not pronounced klee-OH-na, so I couldn't see nn Cleo very well. It's CLEE-(uh)na or even CLEE-'na, like Caitriona is approximately pronounced like Katrina. And I kinda agree with Isla about the "look" of Cliona... I think it's the CLI letter combo at the beginning and the fact that the I is short, vaguely reminding me of the words 'clip' and 'click' ...I do like Cleona pronounced to rhyme Leona, though, with nn Cleo. I have seen the name Cleona actually used, by the way.

I have seen Cleona too pronounced to rhyme with Leona.:)

I wasn't aware of that, thanks. Maybe Cleona is something I could consider :)

I don't like the look of Cliona for some reason, but I'm not sure why. But I do really like the sound of it. I really like Cleo on its own. It's not too nickname-y, imo.

CLiona isn't really my style, but I can understand the appeal, and though the sound of Cleo works as a nn I think that it would be better spelled Clio.

I like it- but I would either spell nn Cleo- 'Clio', or Cliona- 'Cleona'.

I love Cliona, but I prefer the spelling Cliodhna. I don't like Cleo at all though.
