I have a problem with Lucy. I really like the name but to me it seems like it's not a name in its own right but rather a nickname for Lucille. I can't stand giving nicknames as full names. But I also really don't like Lucille. Therefore Lucy, although I like it, is not a name I would ever use.

Lucy is beautiful. My opinion on the commonality of Lucy is: It's more popular than some, less popular than most. It's cute and simple, plus I love the sound of it. To keep Lucy from sounding too bland, a great middle name is needed to add a bit of pizazz.Lucy Evelyn

I really like Lucy. I only know two Lucy's one is in her 50's and the other is in my daughter's class (they are 6yrs).Its a name that goes well on both age groups.
I think it is a well liked name but it doesnt seem to be over done.

You know, to me it seems popular but not common. Meaning it's talked about a lot but I haven't met more than 1 under 20! Weird but the name needs to be put into action!

Lucy has always been a favourite of mine. I prefer the sp Lucie though. Very cute as a nn or given name. Right now I've got the mn Florence on the mind since that's going to be my new baby's mn if it's a girl. I love Lucie Florence. :)

I like Lucy. No, perhaps I should say I Love Lucy. I think it is more cutesy than Lucia though, so you may want to think about that. I think it is the sort of name that people find friendly.
