Kellen
There is a boy in my brothers class named Kellen [KEL-in]. I thought it was really cool, I've never heard this name before till now. WDYT of it, especially this spelling? What are some other variations of the name and is Celyn pronounced the same way? Thank you.

This is on my list of favorite boys names. I am worried it's becoming popular though. I am seeing it more and more on baby boards.
We currently we have a baby boy at work named Kellan Ikia (not sure what that mn is about, but yes he is a boy). And I have a friend with a little girl named Kellen Ruth. I see it more as a masculine name, but it seems trendy to me either way.
My second cousin had a baby in May and named him Kellen Richard. I wasn't so sure about it at first, but I think it's not so bad. I'm surprised I don't like it that much because I love Colin, I like Calum too, and I think Kelly and Cullen are also alright. I think it just looks sort of trendy to me or something.
Also, a guy I went to school with had a little sister named Kellan. I like it better on a boy.

I have see Kellan Kellin and Kellyn the first two were boys I think though my memory is a little hazy but the last one was definately a girl, I have also seen Celyn though I cant remember how its pronounced
I went to school with a guy named Kellan. I rather like the name.
In the comments section for Celyn someone has stated that Celyn is pronounced "kellin", I suppose they could sound the same.
As I understand it, Kellen means "swamp" in German.
I like it because I found if while trying to find some kind of name to honour a Kellie. Though, there are names with more appealing meanings out there. Maybe I'll just tell myself it's an anglicised version of Celyn... :o/

Why not just use Kelly? Just wondering.
Well, I always plan on using Kellie as the mn of my first daughter. But I feel it's good to have a male back-up plan to be able to honour my friend. But I just am not inclined to use Kelly on a boy. It would feel wrong spelling it that was too as I know a number of Kellys with both spellings (so I'd prefer Kellie spelling if I did use Kelly). Plus Kelly is a family surname. I don't really want to use family surnames as first names because I have a close extended family. Plus I've never really liked Kelly/Kellie, it just means too much to me in the honour of this particular person.
On the other hand, Kellen is not Kellie as such, so I don't have to worry about a y/ie difference. And Kell was a nn she always went by. And to step up before a 'why not call him Kell then' question... It feels insubstantial to me. I also like meaning and connectedness behind names. That knocked Kellen out because I can't seem to connect "swamp" to something meaningful to me.
I hope I make sense. I'm so tired. Naming concerns are so complicated.
