I really hate Nate, no offense, and I love Nathan and to "ruin" it with using Nate as a nn would be a disgrace. Nathaniel is always what I hear it short for, and that's okay in my book, since I really loathe Nathaniel too.

I apologize if this sounds harsh. I really can't think of any other way to put my true feelings on it. But yes, Nate "could" work as a nn for Nathan, I just prefer it not to be.
