Lorelei?
I like the name Lorelei, but don't want to sound like a "Gilmore Girls" groupie. Will people always associate the name with the show, or since, now that the show has been canceled, will I be able to use it without evoking thoughts of "Gilmore Girls"?

I think Gilmore Girls but only because I used to watch it a lot and its the only place I've heard the name. However, I don't think this would be a common thing, especially if you are waiting a few years to have kids (assuming you are not pregnant now). In other words, probably by the time you have a child (unless you are pregnant), it will be "Gilmore safe"

I like the name alot, personally, and have never been a fan of the show, or ever really watched it. i'm sure there are lots of people who don't or haven't watched it at all.

In several years, most people won't even remember the show, so I wouldn't worry about it too, too much. But if you spelled it Lorelai, it would definitely be more connected with the character from the show. Lorelei, the legit spelling, was not used on "Gilmore Girls" so if I saw a little girl with this name, I wouldn't necessarily think her mother/parents were obsessed with the show at all. :) BTW, I know B/G twins that are probably 3-4 years old now named Matteo & Lorelei.

I never watched the show, so I don't associate Lorelei with it.

It makes me think of the sirens and mermaids more than it does the Gilmore Girls, and now the show has stopped I don't think it will linger in peoples minds (especially childrens).

On the show, it's spelled Lorelai, so if you spell it Lorelei, I don't know if people will automatically think of Gilmore girls.
btw, Gilmore girls wasn't cancelled, the directors just wanted to end it/do something else n.n

I watched GG when it was on, and I'll probably always associate the name with the show.
