I didn't really like it for a long time either, but now I think it's lovely and classic. A very pretty name.

I LOVE Charlotte, Violet and Scarlet. I choose Violet for my dd. So, the other two are out. Reminds me of Charlotte on Sex and the City. Classy, sweet and feminine.....

I love it. It's gorgeous and underused (where I live).

I love it. It's a nice classic that I would consider using.

I used to prefer Charlotte, but now I prefer Catherine. Charlotte sounds too southern for my taste.

I used to hate Charlotte too, and then I started to love it, and now I still like it but I've kind of grown out of it. I think it's very pretty, feminine, regal, dignified, and ages well.

Back when I disliked most old names, Charlotte was an exception. Never seemed ugly.

It's my future first daughter's name, naturally I love it, have for 17 years.

Well, it was like #6 on someone's recent informal survey of top favorites of the posters here, so there plenty of people who like it. I'm one -- although I didn't name my daughter that, I'm not sure why except that it didn't seem friendly or robust enough to me on the day she was born.

I feel the exact same way. I knew a girl named Charlotte growing up (she has a brother Ralph), I use to thing they had the worst, oldest sounding names. But lately I've started loving the name Charlotte (still hate Ralph though LOL ).

I'm still in the hating it stage. I fail to see it's appeal to so many people.

I don't like it at all.

Charlotte is timeless, has plenty of nns, is fairly popular, but it isn't a favourite of mine. I wouldn't mind seeing it on somebody, but is not something I would use since I find the sound slightly annoying and all the Charlottes I ever met were not that great. They all went by Charlie, which I prefer on a boy.

I've always thought it a so-so name; maybe because I never gave it much thought. It's quite pretty though, and not used too much these days. I like it.
