I thinnk Lorien looks pretty - I just don't understand your pronunciation explanation.
Explain it from an Australian perspective? What word does it sound like here?

Oh. I just check the pronunciation given for Lori and thats where the confusion obviously lies for me. I say Lori and Lorry the same. Both with short O's. I had no idea Lori was meant to be said LAWR-ee.
So, I must be pronouncing it correctly then.
Suggestions:
Lorien & Mariel
Lorien & Daphne
Lorien & Olivia
Lorien & Daisy
Lorien & Marguerite
Lorien & Opal
Lorien & Mariella
Lorien & Mireille
Lorien & Greta
Lorien & Gretchen
Lorien & Maritza
Lorien & Megan
P.S I love Rowan & Theodore "Theo".

The same as in English. Just say 'lorry' (rhymes exactly with 'sorry'), then stick 'en' on the end.
The 'o' in Lorien is the 'o' as in 'lot', rather than 'ah' as in 'car' or 'aw' as in 'law', which are the sounds that the US accent would put in there.

Ok, I've got it now. First part rhymes with "sorry"--that makes total sense. I guess Laurien would make more phonetic sense to me but that would be the kre8tyv spelling, technically. :-/
Cool. I think i had it right all along.
