Rita
What do you think of the name Rita? On a side note, what do you think of Margherita / Margarita?

no no no
Someone mentioned that Rita is a dated name--very true, I know several(5 or6) women aged 55-65 with this name. So, indeed, perhaps its time has come around again.
I like Rita as a nickname only. I really like Margherita and Margarita.
I think it's adorable. I dislike Margarita because of the drink.

Don't know who that is, I just hate the name Rita!

For some reason, Rita doesn't sound pretty to me, but I do love Marguerite. I don't care for Margarita because it would remind me of the drink.
I'm not a huge fan, but I have an Aunt Rita and I love her so I don't hate the name. LOL. Her name is just Rita, it's not short for anything. But I don't really care for Margarita, etc.; I think most will associate it with the drink, as I do. :-

I like it. It has a certain ring to it that I like. I don't care for Margherita / Margarita, as I find them too frilly.

I like Rita, it's old fashioned but it reminds me of Rita Hayworth and old Hollywood. Maybe it will be popular again, as Ava has become.
I prefer Margaretta over Margarita.

I'm not really that fond of the name Rita. I don't like the reet sound. I also think it sounds dated. Margherita/Margarita, I'd never consider because of the drink.
I think Margherita is lovely, but Margarita, though a pretty and legitimate name, is too reminiscent of frosty tequila-laden beverages for me actually to use on a human. Rita is a fine nickname for either, and I'd rather see it used as a nickname than as a full name; there's not much to it on its own.
It's all about context. I know a spanish woman named Margarita and she's lovely, so I like the name. They don't use Margherita as a drink name (as far as I know), so it doesn't have that connection to me.
By contrast, Rita doesn't do much for me.
