Jordan on a girl?
Replies
I've never been able to warm to it on a girl (possibly because the spelling seems to get butchered on girls - I've seen Jordyn, Jordynn, Joyrdin, etc). I much prefer it on a boy, but I guess *technically* it's gender-neutral since it's a place name and a surname. I much prefer Jordana on a girl as opposed to Jordan, though.
It sounds boyish to me. I know boy and girl Jordans, but it seems so masculine.
nt.
To me this name is 100% male, simply by the sound of it, it doesnt sound feminine at all. And then the Jordan river is male in all the languages I know ... dunno about the original gender though.
I don't mind it on a girl, but it still sounds very masculine to me, so therefore I prefer it for a boy. I actually prefer Jordyn for a girl, I know it's a trendy spelling!
I don't mind it for a girl as long as its paired with a very feminine middle name (or first name depending...) I do prefer it for a boy alot more though.
I really dislike it, only because I do feel its a boys name, but also because I simply don't find it appealing for either gender. However, I have known more girl Jordan's than boys, so its not out-of-the-norm for me. However, this doesn't make it right in my eyes (same situation as Madison, Ashley, Taylor, etc.).
It feels very dated to the 80s to me, girl or boy.
I love it for either a boy or a girl. I know it's really trendy for either, but I can't help but adore it.
