Thoughts on Stella?
I'm really enjoying the "el" type names at the moment, Isabella, Annabelle, & even Ella to a certain extent, so what are your thoughts on Stella?

I love the name Stella! It's so classy and feminine...goregeous imo :-)

I like it, especially as a nn for Estella.

I really find it harsh and unappealing, but strangely I love Estella and Estelle. I wouldn't mind it on somebody else's child though.

I don't really like it, but I'm becoming used to it since someone I know recently had girl named Stella Bleu. It just sounds like a Latin word to me.

Mm, I like Stella, much more than I like the others you listed. Someone named Stella will get a lot of "Streetcar..." jokes, though. When I was dating someone named Stella, and mentioned that to my friends, a lot of them made jokes about me yelling "STELLAAAAAA!" The one other maybe-sort-of con is there was a very famous drag queen whose female name was Stella. But I think it's lovely. Because of a personal association, I think Stella, Vivian and Lily go really well together. And I think that's all the random Stella comments I have to make.

Stella is really pretty, though I personally don't like it for some reason I can't put my finger on. It always seemed a very 'out-there' name; not because it was unusual, but because I always associated it with that kind of person.

It's an alright name. I have a Brazilian friend named Stella, but even so all I think about is A Streetcar Named Desire... and then of course that one Seinfeld episode... :)

Stella is the name of one of the characters in my novel. It was never one of my favorite names, but it seemed to fit her, so that was her name. But as the character has grown I have fallen in love with her and now I adore the name. Stella is an adorable name on a little girl. I wouldn't be able to ever use it, because in my mind, it will always be tied to the perky blond 9 year old Stella Francis Warren that I created, but I still love it.

Reminds me of the lager, and also of the phrase 'go stellar', which annoys me for no particular reason. But I guess it's a harmless enough nameS x

I think Stella is quite pretty. I'm glad I have good associations with it now rather than just a weird girl I went to elementary and middle school with who chased this guy around the hallway, lol.
