Vera...nicknames??
I really like the name Vera and I am considering naming my daughter this, the only thing holding me back is that I really like nns but couldn't come up wih any for Vera except for maybe Vee, which I'm not fond of!
Any suggestions tha aren't too far-fetched? Thanks!

Okay... call me crazy... but why does she need a nickname right away? Sometimes the best names come organically from seeing the child.
My cousin for instance, named her son John, who could go by Johnny, J, Jack or JR (for his middle name). However, once he was born, he looked JUST like a cute little bug in a rug. It stuck. His nickname is now Bug.
I'm not sure why people think the nickname HAS to come from the name. Adorable, fitting nicknames seem to come best (in my opinion) from the child's personality!

Why would you want a nickname for it? I think it's a lovely name and not too difficult for a child to master. There's always pet names based on a child's personality, although those really can't be given until the child is a bit older. I don't think it needs a nickname, but that's just my opinion.
If you really like Vera, then not having good nicknames shouldn't hold you back. Just call her Vera.

Vivi or Bibi? Verushka is a common Russian nn for Vera, but maybe it's too fanciful? I think it's a beautiful name anyway, and I don't see it as needing a nn since it's short.
