This just made me laugh, I had to share. :)
Hm. Now I feel as though I should show off some highlights from August. Let's see.
Adedayo and David welcome Dorcas Adedamola, the first Dorcas I've ever seen. She joins siblings Doyin, Dotun, and Dokun.
Shi'Kira Ophelia gives unto our community the first instance of Ophelia it has seen in many years. She joins JaBrien, Montricia, and Connah.
Kenya and King welcome Kayla Essence Michelle, who joins brother King David and introduces the concept of the name "Essence."
Karma Elizabeth enters the world in an adorable pink Harley-Davidson babysuit, making Elizabeth look startlingly dull next to startling in general Karma.
For girls, trendy cutesy names abounded, including but not limited to Kaidence Leigh (siblings Trinity and Elisha), Mckenna Raelyn, Addison Leigh, Kambell Claire (sister Kennady), Brynnley Savannah (brother Ashton), Jordyn Autumn (brother Jamie), Krista Aaralyn (siblings Milan and Dakota), Dakota Lynne (brothers Adam and Justin), Ava Reese (siblings Kyle and Lauren), Jazmyn Maranda (siblings Justice, Michael Jr, Michaela, and Jacques) and Madisyn Alaine (siblings Morgan, Austin, and Michelle). Interestingly enough, there is a more sensibly named Madison Elaine in an adorable dress (http://www.eamc.org/stork/babyphotos/DSCN3120.JPG) with siblings Elizabeth and Wiley. There are also two African-American girls named Madison: Madisyn Michelle (sibling Amorri) and Madison Trenae (siblings Traco and Zarian, both boys), which is the first time I've seen Madisyn on anyone not white.
There are some gems, though. There's a Dorcas, mentioned above, which really delights me. Genevieve Rachel was born August 9. As far as made-up names go, Adelyn Kristina (joining Emma) is quite nice. Sophie Marie (brother Stillman) and Lillian Grace are both pretty impressive, despite the filler mn's. Laura Catherine joins Tamra, Josie, and Stewart. Mary Margo may win the prize for being superiorly named this month.
Eli Bransen wins for having the largest quality discrepancy between first and middle name. Zarrell Cordarius (brothers Zacchaeus and Zuntavious) wins as the most daring set of names individually, and also the most exciting sibset. Braydon William and Christopher Brayden tie for worst name present overall. Most of the other names were fairly unremarkable. A few Ty'Quavion Martrez sorts, and lots of Jacob Glenn sorts.

Zy'Quez and Zy'Kuez? Um, wouldn't those both be pronounced as zye-kwez? How else could either of those spellings be pronounced, and why would you want to anyway? Oy.
Dorcas would be easily teased in an English-speaking area but it seems as though this is an African family, so perhaps they are not aware of that. Dorcas is still a hell of a lot better than her siblings' names, imo, and the name Dorcas bothers me a lot less than the sibset as a whole. I'm just glad they didn't name her Dosan or Dofan or somesuch, just to keep up the "theme".
I wish Ophelia was her fn, too, but her full name is much better than her sibs, imo. Is Connah a boy or a girl, I wonder--a feminine version of Connor or just Connor with an accent? :-/
None of the tryndees are terribly surprising. I see them a lot where I work, too. I just have to remind myself that not everyone has our "sensibilities" when it comes to names. LOL.

I've known of several Dorcases who were born in Africa, and I would guess that Adedayo was, based off of her name. So it seems relatively logical to me--and it makes me sad that the word "dorkus" exists, because I think Dorcas would be pretty otherwise.

Whenever I hear of King on a boy, I can only picture the somewhat decrepit, staid, Prufrockish King Westley from It Happened One Night. Blech.

What do you mean? As a middle name, Bransen's not bad at all. Reminds me of Bronson, as in the Transcendentalist Bronson Alcott...so both names feel rather 19th-century to me, since Eli = cotton gin.

Yeah, I love Dorcas, and I thought Adedamola was really strange until I read her parents' names. I thought she was an interesting addition to her sibset, because the rest of them sound like Dragonball-Z characters to me, while Dorcas is pretty, old-fasihoned, and namey. And I an interesting way to incorporate her mother's name into hers.
About Bransen: I hate the Br, the Bran, the short a, the sen as opposed to the son, the son in the first place- that is, every aspect of it, phonetically. I hate every aspect of Bronson as well, but not as much as I hate Bransen. But I love the long vowels and simplicity in Eli.

I don't understand why people always want a "special spelling" for the names of their children. Most the names you just posted are pretty nice (or really beautiful) but the terrible spelling just ruins everything...
i guess it's not enough that every child is special in it's own way - now people most make a statement by spelling names really weird...
