Saelyn?
One of the NZ Idol contestant's name is Saelyn (now eliminated), what do you think? Has anyone ever heard this name before?

I prefer Shaelyn
Both Saelyn and Shaelyn look newly made-up to me, but I prefer Shaelyn. Saelyn sounds nice but is too similar to "sailin'", *starts singing "We are sailing stormy waters, to be near you, to be free", the old Rod Stewart hit*.
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

I don't like it, and no, I can't say that I've ever heard it before.

Yes, being an Aussie this is exactly how I say it, like dropping the g off sailing.
