I've always loved the name John. Like Mary, it may have been overly used in the past. But there is such a reaction against common names like these that they are starting to sound rare to me!

P.S. I just noticed your name list. Very nice combinations. But since Evan is the Welsh form of John (or John is the English form of Evan!) I wouldn't use both of them in a sibling set if I were you. Also, please do not use Thomas as a mn. "John Thomas" is a euphamism for a penis. (Not that you said you would. I'm just trying to nip things in the bud.)
