Pronounciation of the name Thea
From what I have read this name can be pronounced Tey-ah or Th-e-ah (like Theo with an a). I love the 1st pronounciation, but I am wondering how many people will use the 2nd. How would you pronounce the name when you first read it?

I would pronounce it THEE-a unless it had an accent. it would be pronounced TAY-A if it was spelt Théa .

TAY-ahI say Theodora like Teodora, so it follows that Thea would be TAY-ah.

I've heard it both ways (THEE-ah, soft "th" as in "think" and TAY-ah), but just looking at it I'd assume the first pronunciation unless told otherwise. I like Thea with that prn. as a nn for Theodora or Dorothea but I think it seems a little bare on its own.

I first thought it was "THEE-ah", but then I heard others pronouncing it as "TAY-ah". I don't mind either, but I prefer "THEE-ah" just because it's the first one I knew and "TAY-ah" just sounds like Taylor to me without the 'l' (I don't like Taylor).

THEE-a, as I am friends with a girl who pronounces it that way. It's also likely to be initially pronounced that way by most people.I like it both ways.
