Re: Nathan vs. Nathaniel
I can't stand Nathan. It's so harsh. Nathaniel however is only of my favorite names. It's more elegant, mature, and less trendy. Plus, you could always shorten Nathaniel to Nathan (or Nate or Nat) if you wanted.

Nathan and Nathaniel are pretty close in popularity stats.Doesn't make much of a difference.

I disagreeIf you look closer, at least for 2006, you'll see that
nathan:0.651%
nathaniel:0.302%which means you're twice as likely to meet a Nathan as a Nathaniel.

23 to 69 is bit of a difference, at least for me. I suppose I just get more of a trendy feel from Nathan.

TrendyTrendy isn't exactly the word I'd use for Nathan, but I do feel that there's something slightly dated about it. Just a hinted of dated-ness, you know?

Agreed.Nathan sounds like he'd be Ashley and Kaitlyn's classmate, along with his brother, Zachary. Much too 80s/90s for my tastes.Array
