Sandra and Sandrine
Sandra and Sandrine are two of my current guilty pleasures. Not like they're very radical or anything; the guilt might just come from Sandra being dated and Sandrine being an unnecessary elaboration on a dated name. Anyway! As I don't care for Alexander or anything that sounds too close to Alexander, I was fishing around for a full name for either. Cassandra was the first that came to mind, which I like well enough but am not enthusiastic about. Any other suggestions? Opinions?

Well my mum's name is Sandra and I am Cassie (not Cassandra though) so I like Sandra and Cassandra. Chrysandra?

I don't think Lysandra was mentioned, so I'll throw that one in there.

Marija Luminitsa suggested Lysandra, too; I could see it growing on me. It's less usual but nothing too out there and I enjoy that about it. And I like L names, which addes to the appeal. :-)

I don't like Sandra (dated as you say), but Sandrine is very pretty. I can't think of anything for it to be short for that hasn't been suggested, and I like Alex- names, so I'm not much help there, sorry!

Lol, thanks for the input anyway. :-) I'm happy Sandrine is getting positive feedback. I wasn't sure if it'd too unappealing in whatever capacity for people.

Sandrine is ok, but not really my style. I like Cassandra and Sandra quite a bit. I prefer Kassandra a bit more because of my obsession with Greek names. Speaking of which, how about Lysandra?

LysandraI think I'm just about even between Cassandra and Kassandra; I don't know much about Greek names, but I think aesthetically they're on a par with each other.Lysandra is probably one of my favorites that I've seen so far. I tend to like L names. I think Isandra would be feasible, too; Isandro is listed in the database but I'd take the leap and feminize, no problem. :-)

YepIsandra exists, it just isn't as common. :-)

I dislike Sandra, but like Sandrine. Alessandra, Corisande, and Melisande are all favorites of mine.

CorisandeI like Corisande. I've never heard it before. :-) It's pretty and interesting without being over-the-top elaborate. Thanks!

I can't stand Sandra, but I really like Sandrine. My favorite Sandrine combo is Octavia Sandrine. Alessandra, Ruxandra, Melisande or Melisandra could have the nn Sandra / Sandrine.

Octavia SandrineOoh, Octavia Sandrine is very pretty. Definitely unusual, definitely interesting. It reminds me of marine life for some reason; maybe the 'oct' (octopus?) and 'sand' are doing it. :-) But that's not a downside. Melisande is pretty, and Ruxandra had nowhere near crossed my mind. I like it, though.
