I love it! And question... (m)
First off, would you be using it on a boy or a girl?Second, I don't really see why anyone would tease your kid for being name Anakin, and I know that very few kids in my school have any interest in Star Wars. In ten years, I definitely don't think your kid will have any problems. I love this name! Although, I am having a hard time seeing an eighty year old Anakin...

Well, I would like to mention that Star Wars is very pop culture and most people have atleast heard of Star Wars if not seen a few or all of the movies. Personally, I don't know anyone that doesn't know that Anakin was part of Star Wars and most people know that he eventually turns into the villian of the series. I still love the name Anakin mind you, but I definately think there will be teasing potential for a very long time. Not only do people who grew up in the 70's, 80's, 90's, and today know what Star Wars is, it was such a big thing that I think people in the future will know Star Wars as well. I think most Star Wars names are off limits if you want a "normal" or "non-teasable" name.
I do remember hearing that Anakin is a legitimate name in some Norse or Scandinavian areas but I can't find where I found that at the moment. I like it for that reason, but I would never use it.

Oh, it'd be for a boy.And that's good to hear, I wasn't sure if the name would have some sort of teasing potential. And I know what you mean, I guess it doesn't seem that great on someone older. But I don't think that would be a big deal. The name is just so wonderful! Thanks so much! :-D
