Sydney
Please give me your impressions on the same Sydney for my little girl. Personally, I love and adore this sweet name for a little girl. It's very friendly and caring.
Please give me your opinions!

I think Sydney is a cute name. I like this spelling for a girl. I prefer Sidney for a boy.
I prefer Sidney, and on a boy. It really irks me how many fantastic masculine names are being appropriated by the girls. (R.I.P. Ashley, in the US, at least.) Still, I knew an adorable little girl named Sydney which softened me up just a tiny bit, so you will not incur my complete wrath if you do use it. :)
I'm not sure about the "friendly and caring" image, though. It's all a matter of opinion, really, but I would see a Sydney as being a little more vivacious and edgy, not in a bad way, of course.

I use to really love the name Sydney for a girl because of the show Alias. However, after meeting some little girls named Sydney, I'm not sure the name has the same cool quality. it seems to be a more of a princess type name than a tomboy unisex type name, if that makes any sense.
I strongly dislike Sydney or Sidney for a boy. the name's gone over to the girls, it would be cruel to name a boy Sydney.

I only like Sidney, and for a boy.

I'm going to disagree with the majority and say i quite like Sydney for a girl :)
I like it for a boy. It is very masculine to me.
It's very masculine IMO, and harsh ("SID!" and the -nee after it sounds mechanical and silly) and ugly either way. And it's very trendy, in the US at least, which would make me less inclined to use it.
That's just my opinion of course :)

Only for a boy, IMO.
I see a little Sydney as being rambuctious and mischievous, but not in a malicious way. She just loves life!
She's vibrant and intelligent, but definitely not into frills and lace. I imagine that she's somewhat of a tomboy, but when she grows up, she becomes a willful, headstrong, classy woman with a knack for business.

I really like it. It's rare in Scotland, though. The only Sydney I know is my grandfather's (female) cousin, who must be in her seventies at least. You never hear it on little ones. I don't think I'd like it if it were too popular, as I think it is in the USA.
