WDYT of this twinset I heard today?
I was walking down the frozen food section of the supermarket today when I saw a mother with identical twin girls who looked to be about four or five years old. The girls were acting up and when their mother was scolding them she used their full names. "Ella Mae and Emma Rae Walker, you better stop or we will leave this store right now. Do you understand?"I'm not sure how the parent's spelt the middle names but I'm guessing that it would be the first option.Ella Mae and Emma Rae
Ella May and Ella RayWhat do think nice or too cutesy?

Ella and Emma??? Not in the same sibset, but as twins?? :O

the names by themselves are nice, but too close for twins. I don't understand this mania of giving twins such similar names, as if they were pretty much the photocopy of the same person.

They are really cute, but so twin-y.

I think they sound too much the same, especially the middle names. I like Emma on it's own though.

Ella Mae is a nice name but I think the sibsets are far too similar.

Not too bad by themselves, though even then they're a bit girly. Together, I do think they are too cutesy.

They are cute on their own, but not as a set.

WAY too cutesy for my tastes. At least they each have their own name--it's not Emma Rae and Ella Rae, for instance, or two forms of the same fn like Emily Mae and Emma Rae. But it's way too cutesy, rhymey, and theme-y for me. I know of sisters named Emma and Ava and I thought that was bad enough, but then tack on rhyming mn's? Sheesh. ETA: Also, Ella & Emma makes me think of LMNOP (or our BtN poster, Elemmennope :b). Are the next two kids going to be Enno & Pee? (Edited: I messed up)

i think they're nice, but Ella May (or Mae, whatever you want) really doesn't work for me, because my best friend has a basset hound named Ellie May. i love the dog, but it just doesn't really work on a human after you know that.

Don't forget Ellie Mae Clampett :b

My grandma's mn is Rae and her sister's mn is Mae. As for the twinset, nmsaa. Way too similar and much too cutesy.

Veeeeeery cutesy. Also a bit hickish where I live. I hate the practice of giving twins similar names. It gives the impression that they're one person, instead of two separate individuals. Twins already will get mixed up enough. Similar names just add to the problem.Ella and Emma are already cutesy together, but with the rhymey middle names it's just bad.
