I pronounce Laila as LIE-lah. For LAY-lah, I'd spell it Leila.

I love LAY-lah, spelled Leila. But that can also be confusing (I thought for years Leila was prn. LEE-lah). Layla just looks trendy and a bit illiterate to me, and Laila looks like it could be prn. LYE-lah.
