Manon?
I've been liking Manon more and more, but I'm clueless as to how to pronounce it. Is it 'mah-NO' or 'mah-NOHN'?What do you think of the name? Do you have any middle name ideas? Also, how well does it fit with the combo Aurelia Mavourneen? Thanks!

It's ma (like man) then the normal French non. I don't like it because ma non is Italian and used a lot in music, so to me it just looks like smushed-together words rather than a name.It goes fine with Aurelia Mavourneen - good combo.OT: Love the sig :p

It makes me think of "Man on top"

Hi,It's Mah-NON but the final n is silent, as in the french pronounciation of NON for No, so the o sound you achieve is something along the lines of the o in say, Octavia. I have two french friends called Manon but i always think it sounds quite masculine on a girl, because of the 'man' at the beginningi hope i was some help :)

It's ma-NO or ma-NAW (the last Syllable is very nasal and French)

No,that's not how I've ever heard it pronounced (by French speaking people). Are you French?

Second this.I went to driving school with an incredibly annoying one....she freaked out at the teacher when he pronounced it that way. Also, it's a French form of Marie, not Marianne.

It's mah-NO. No nasal n on the end. That's just how French pronunciation works. =) I think it's cute. Manon has been on my mind lately too. It reminds me of a character from Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources. Manon and Aurelia would be a cute sibset. As for combo ideas, wdyto...Manon Charlotte

It's got a nasal N at the end, if I recall correctly. I learned that from high school French, when we watched Manon de la Source. :]
