Opinions on Lucy.

I strongly dislike it.
I love the name Lucy, always have, always will. There's just something cute and sweet about it which I love, but it also has some spunk too. I also like the way it sounds on a child and all the way up to an adult and grandmother. It seems to suit a female of any age. I personally prefer just Lucy, but it is nice as a nn for Lucille and Lucinda too.
Hate it, but love Lucia.
I love it and prefer it on it's own.
I love Lucy.
Well, it's my 18-mth old niece's name, so I love it because it belongs to her. But objectively speaking, I'm not that keen on it. It is EXTREMELY popular, and has been for ages- my best friend at uni was named Lucy, and it's been either #7 or #8 in popularity over here every year since 2000. I think I've been over-exposed to it, making it seem a bit bland to me now.
I like it.
It's sweet but not saccharine. I prefer Lucy by itself not only because I think it stands perfectly well alone, but also since I don't particularly care for Lucilla, or Lucille, and I'm only lukewarm for Lucinda. I think Lucasta has appeal and could see Lucy as a feasible nickname for that, but otherwise I prefer it on its own.

I actually like it a lot when it's used as a full name. I don't think it needs to be a nickname for anything.
