August
I'm really starting to like August for a boy and I would like to know what others think about it.
I'm liking August as a short form for Augustus (which I would never use) but I'm afraid that most people would associate it with the month August and that makes it feminine imo. So the classical question :) what do you think?

I prefer August as a girl's name.
I love August by itself and not as a nickname for anything. I don't find it feminine at all. I know 13 year old boy with the name and he is the only person I've ever met with it.
I've never seen this as a girl's name. I love it on a boy!
My absolute favourite boys name
Hands down, no competion. My first son will be August Malachi "Gus", hubby can like it or lump it- I'll let him name the 2nd if he really objects ;)
Yes, there is the month thing. And I'm prepared for that. It's partly why I hope my first son is born Jan- March- as far away from August as possible ;) I'd be harded pressed to say why I love the name so much, I just do. I think it's handsome, spunky and classic, all at the same time. Great name.

August is nms for either gender.
I think that August is a nice name for a boy! I don't see the name as being feminine, nor do I think that the month association would make it such.
It works on either gender, but I'd prefer Augustine on a girl.
And just because something is associated with a month, doesn't mean it'll be feminine. Personally, I like October on a boy.

I love August for a boy and I find it completely masculine.
I like August on a boy. I don't think it is too feminine.
I love it, but [m]
I am using it for a girl, and I do associate it with the month. I just prefer it on a girl.
I think it's nice for a boy as well.

I agree with what you said about August seeming feminine (too close Autumn?) He might prefer the nn Gus.
