Thoughts on Gibson (g)
First of all, Let me Just say that I am a girl with a what is considered to be a boys name and I have Never regreted it, I love having a name that not every other girl has, That being said I do understand that not every little girl would be as happy to have a "boys" name as I am.
Okay, now that that's out of the way, One of the names that has been on my mind lately is Gibson. I think it would be Lovely on a girl of any age. maybe Paired with a more natural MN Like Arianna or Elia. what do you think? and please remember that this is all just a matter of Taste.

I really don't like it on a boy or a girl, its way too surnamey. Ariana is gorgeous though.
No. I don't think it flows well as a fn, plus it's too surnamey.

Its not that Gibson is a "boys" name (for I agree that I probably would have liked to have a more masculine name myself and have settled with a masculine nn). I am not keen with Gibson because it is a surname, and I really loathe surnames as first names.
It was my grandfather's middle name (possibly a family name on his mother's side). I think it would be horrid on a girl.
If you absolutely must use this strong, masculine name on a girl, a cute way to do it is to make it her middle name. It goes well with most names, and I think it would be adorable.
I don't love the name Gibson for a girl or a boy. But I don't have a problem with girls having names that are usually boys names.
haha. eom
I automatically think of guitars D:

Sorry, but Gibson is terrible for a girl. It's awful for a boy too.
There's a mixed drink called a Gibson. I don't remember what all is in it, but it has two little cocktail onions that are symbolic of breasts, after the famed Gibson Girl (she was big way back when) who was very busty.
