Eva or Eve?
I like both, but Eva used to always be my favorite by far. All the sudden, I like something about the simplicity of Eve and the way to two e's look. Which is your favorite? Do you think I should probably use Eve, because it's a lot less common? And do you think the names popularity in England, France, etc, is going ot increase it's popularity where I live in the United States? I'm afraid the name might get really common or something. Thank you!

I love the simplicity and loveliness (lol) of Eve, and the nn Evie. I used to prefer Eva (which I like prn. as EE-vah), but since the rise of Ava, it has lost its luster for me. :-/

I don't think Eve is ever going to get really popular. It just doesn't seem to be one of those names that people will go crazy over. I think in general, people would use Ava (as we've seen) or Eva instead. I think Eve is a lovely name and I find it quite pretty. I can also see it on a female of any age, which is a good thing imo.

Definitely Eva

I prefer Evelyn with the nn Eve. :)

I love Eva and would consider using it, but I would have to have quite a few kids before I reached it on my list. I rather like it as a nickname for Evelina as well as on its own.

Eve does run the risk of becoming popular, but Eva is already common. I prefer Eve myself, for the same reasons. It's just such a pretty, simplistic sound. Eva, somehow, is rather unappealing to me.

I like Eva better, with or without nicknames Eve or Evie. I think Eva, while perhaps a bit more common, looks and sounds classier and more elegant. Eve is a shade bit harsher sound, but I think it's great for a simple, yet lovely and unexpected, middle name.

By far, I prefer Eve. It's one of my favorite female names.

I really love both. If I had to pick, I'd say Eve, and Evie is an adorable nickname.I do think it will get more popular, but not insanely so.

I far prefer Eve, especially with the nn Evey (never Evie, please and thank you)--but I went to school with an Eve who was never nicknamed, so if you dislike Evey, you certainly wouldn't have to use it. No one even thought to call her Evey--she was just very thoroughly an Eve. Come to think of it, there's a just-Eve at my college, too, and again, no one nicknames her.I'm desperately afraid that Eve will get ridiculously popular. That would pretty much kill my soul, because Eve and Evening (nn Evey either way) tie as my number one favourite name.Array

I prefer Eva...although i really like the nn Evie for Eve. Have you thought about Ava for an alternative?

I've never been that big on the name Ava. It's really popular, plus it doesn't seem as soft or appealing to me. Evie is cute, but it always reminds of a Pokemon character Eevee, which makes me not like it as much...

lol! I hadn't thought about that...

lolhaha i hadnt even considered pokemon!

Yeah it's kind of weird, I don't know why that Pokemon pops up everytime I hear the name! I'm sure if it wasn't for that I'd really love Evie, because it sounds adorable. I guess Eva might be less likely to get nn'd Evie, so I might be leaning toward Eva again, not sure.
